BACKGROUND:

Of Eastern European descent, Petrov's family settled in the US during the 
1920s. Family ran a restaurant business. (Possible connection to illegal 
breweries?) Now estranged.

At age 18, Petrov volunteered for service in the US Army. He served in 
Vietnam from [REDACTED] to [REDACTED], under [REDACTED]. By all accounts, 
his activities during this period was competent, but unexceptional, aside 
from a particular incident during [REDACTED]. Petrov's squad was ambushed 
during a routine patrol by elements of the NLF. In the firefight that 
followed, Petrov emerged the only survivor, being discovered in a 
confused, but mostly unhurt state by a rescue party a few hours later. A 
psych evaluation was conducted, but was inconclusive, and Petrov was

Over the next period, Petrov moved between jobs, mostly in the securities 
sector. For a period he succumbed to alcoholism, but has mostly quit.
